FATHER’S DAY SPECIAL CONSTRUCTION TOUR
More than just one trip to the hardware store!

Sunday, June 15
12:30 – 2:30 p.m.
$40 per person

Anyone who loves home repair, construction and building materials will enjoy this Dad’s Day construction-related tour that will focus on the details of the restoration project, Wright’s architectural engineering, and the inner workings of the buildings. You will visit the Martin House “physical plant” to view the environmentally-friendly, geo-thermal HVAC system and your docent will tell tales that will make a do-it-yourselfer’s toes curl: such as the spine-tingling “Nine year search for brick.” Tour includes a gift from the Wisteria Shop.

Space is limited. For reservations call 716-856-3858

IN-DEPTH TOURS

In-depth Tours of the Martin House complex visit spaces not seen on the basic one-hour tour, including the Barton House (1903) and the Gardener’s Cottage (1909.) In slightly under two-hours, these tours are unhurried so that you can absorb the ambience of the house and take time to appreciate the details. Your docent will expand on the Martin and Wright story to provide even greater context to the genius of this architectural masterpiece.

FOCUS TOUR
with master docent, Duane Churchill

2 ½ hour tours: 10:30 a.m., 4th Saturday year-round.

$40/person/$35 for Martin House Associates.

Follow the signage to the Carriage House, which is where tour will gather. Rain or shine. Reservations required. Call 716-856-3858.

Your Focus Tour with master docent, Duane Churchill, will reveal how the Martin House is the creation of a brilliant architect and his client - a man whom, upon his passing, Wright referred to as “his best friend.” As an expert storyteller, Duane unravels Frank Lloyd Wright’s genius in weaving a portrait of Darwin Martin into the fabric of the building. You will visit spaces in the Martin House complex that are not included on the basic tour, including the Barton House (1903) and the Gardener’s Cottage (1909).

Children under 10 not permitted on this tour

COMBINATION TICKET: DARWIN D. MARTIN HOUSE AND GRAYCLIFF

Both are open for tours. You can save on your admission at both sites when you purchase a combination ticket to the Darwin D. Martin House complex and to Graycliff, the Isabelle R. Martin House and Estate. Your purchase can be made at either historic site and has no expiry date – so you can tour both in one day – or save one for a future visit.
