Spring Docent Training Class Announced

January 26, 2015

Do you . . .

  • Enjoy working with people of all ages and meeting visitors from Buffalo and around the world?
  • Have an appreciation for Buffalo’s architectural legacy and the artistry of Frank Lloyd Wright?
  • Love to meet other art, architecture, and history enthusiasts?

Become a Martin House Docent

You can share your skills and interests as a volunteer for the Darwin D. Martin House by becoming one of our certified docents. Our docents create memorable and exciting learning experiences for thousands of guests who visit the Martin House each year through guided tours of our National Historic Landmark.

Training is provided by expert staff, experienced docents, and specialists from the Martin House and the community. Continuing education programs are also available throughout the year for all docents and docents-in-training. Upon the successful completion of the training program and requirements, the commitment for leading tours is a minimum of two tours per month (on average).

Docent Training 2015

Weekly sessions (Wednesdays, 6:30 – 8:00 pm) from April 8, 2015, through May 27, 2015

Fee: $30 to cover costs of training materials.

To apply for Docent Training, email or call Angela Laviano Hamister, Director of Volunteers, at 716-856-3858 ext. 406.
