MARTIN HOUSE ANNOUNCES MARY F. ROBERTS WILL BE CHIEF OPERATING OFFICE (5/06)

BUFFALO, NEW YORK - The Martin House Restoration Corporation announced today that Mary F. Roberts will step into the role of Chief Operating Officer for the organization. Presently serving as the organization's Director of Finance, Ms. Roberts will become the COO upon the departure of John C. Courtin, the current executive director, who will be leaving on May 31.

A native Buffalonian and a graduate of Canisius College, Roberts has served the Martin House project for nearly ten years, first in a volunteer role, and as an employee since 1998. In addition to her financial duties, Ms. Roberts has been charged during recent years with oversight of the construction aspect of this unprecedented restoration.

"On behalf of the Martin House Board of Directors, I am pleased and excited that Mary has accepted this new role," said MHRC President, Robert D. Gioia. "Mary is the perfect choice to lead this organization as we open the Martin House Complex to the world this fall."

The Martin House Restoration Corporation is a New York not-for-profit corporation founded in 1992. It has a 33-member board of directors and more than 350 active volunteers. The MHRC is restoring Frank Lloyd Wright's Darwin D. Martin complex to its condition as of 1907. The historic Martin House site is open for tours on a year-round basis.
